Madras Café

Madras Cafe3

A calm place, with an ethnic look, that never gets crowded. We expected the all-Indian, all-vegetarian food to suck because one of is not a big fan of Indian food and likes meat; but it was actually really good.  Fast service.

Academy Records

Academy Records3

A cool store;  very laid back and rock n’ rolly. Only vinyl. You can to what you choose on the record players.  We like the cashier who let us take pictures.  While necessary, the headphones made it difficult to gauge sound quality. Records are supposed to sound like records, not an iPod. Otherwise, a hip joint.

Ninth Street Espresso

Ninth Street Esspresso

A COMFORTABLE, RELAXING ENVIRONMENT WITH AC. Though the only thing they sell was coffee, it is damn good coffee. Espresso, Americano, macchiato, cappuccino, latte, mocha, house coffee and iced coffee.

9th Street Community Garden

9th street garden3

A BEAUTIFUL AND MYSTERIOUS PLACE IN KIND OF A SPOOKY WAY, due to the fact that there are odd little decorations everywhere like flowers made out of soda cans and beanie babies nailed to plastic containers.  This gives it a cool and original look. It is also filled with plants, trees and flowers and benches and tables for hanging out.
