After tolerating the carnage in Iraq, the agony in Darfur, the assasination of Lebanese cabinet minister Pierre Gemayel, Recharger is thrilled to report a glimmer of justice: Yankee captain Derek “you made me drop the ball, A-Rod” Jeter has again lost the MVP award. This makes perfect sense. While Jeter’s numbers are respectable, his puerile behavior towards teammate Alex Rodriguez has been constant--blaming A-Rod for every dropped ball--and his attitude towards fans--having hecklers tossed from the stadium--despicable. Meanwhile the Yanks, with the fattest payroll in baseball (a little over a $100 million--ten times the lowest payroll Florida Marlins), failed for the sixth straight year to win the World Series.
We applaud those sports writers the NY Post branded “Anti-Yankee yokels,” and insist with every anti-Yankee bone in our body that Jeter is New York’s Cal Ripken.
Hey Jeter, what the hell does the captain do anyway?
